Pattu Series 1: The Art of Kanchipattu Sarees

Kanchipattu sarees, also known as Kanjeevaram sarees, come from the rich weaving tradition of Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. Celebrated for their vibrant colors, luxurious silk texture, and lasting durability, they are the hallmark of South Indian bridal elegance.

The Making of a Masterpiece

Each Kanchipattu saree is a labor of love, taking up to two months to craft. Made from pure mulberry silk sourced from Karnataka, the threads are cleaned, twisted, and dyed in rich hues using natural or acid dyes.

Its signature shimmer comes from real zari—silver threads plated with gold. Traditional motifs, such as peacocks, temple borders, florals, checks, and mango buttas, are thoughtfully arranged to balance the body, border, and pallu.
