Growing up, I watched my mother speak with deep passion about sarees — her eyes would light up with pride and joy every time she draped one. That quiet confidence, that sense of beauty and belonging, left a lasting impression on me.

Kara was born from a desire to share that feeling with others — to celebrate the grace of South Indian tradition, and to bring thoughtfully chosen sarees to women around the world, without ever compromising their authenticity.

About Kara
Kara is a celebration of South Indian Sarees - bridal & occasional, thoughtfully sourced from traditional weavers across India. While many options exist in the U.S., there’s something unmatched about the authenticity woven by the hands of Indian artisans. At Kara, we work directly with these weavers to bring you sarees that are rich in heritage and crafted with care. Each piece tells a story — from the intricate threads of Kanjeevaram silk to the soft cotton of Venkatagiri.

We aim to feature iconic regional styles such as Pochampally Ikkat, Chettinadu, Mysore Crepe, and more. Each saree is thoughtfully curated not just for its beauty, but to share the joy of Indian craftsmanship across borders—without compromising its authenticity.
