OUR STORY
Kara Kollections, curated by Priyanka Achanta
At Kara, we believe a saree is more than just a garment — it’s a legacy & a lifelong memory. Woven into each thread are stories of heritage, tradition, and timeless elegance.
Growing up, I watched my mother speak with deep passion about sarees — her eyes would light up with pride and joy every time she draped one. That quiet confidence, that sense of beauty and belonging, left a lasting impression on me.
Kara was born from a desire to share that feeling with others — to celebrate the grace of South Indian tradition, and to bring thoughtfully chosen sarees to women around the world, without ever compromising their authenticity.
About Kara
Kara was born out of a simple belief: that every South Indian woman deserves access to heirloom-worthy bridal sarees — without having to cross oceans or compromise on authenticity. While most bridal fashion today is lehenga-heavy, sometimes a girl just wants to rock a saree — to feel powerful, elegant, and rooted in tradition.
I work directly with traditional weavers across India to bring rare, handwoven designs — Kanchipattu, Venkatagiri, Gadwal, and more — straight to the U.S. No middlemen. No replicas. Just authentic craftsmanship, modern styling, and local convenience.
Our sarees are available right here in the U.S. — ready to ship within 2–3 days, with customization options and styling support. Whether you're a bride, a bridesmaid, or just someone who wants to feel beautiful in a saree, we’re here to bring you timeless elegance — on your terms, and in your time.
This is more than fashion.
It’s about heritage, identity, and access.
It’s about bringing South Indian bridal wear into the spotlight — and making it effortlessly accessible for women across the U.S.
Welcome to Kara — a new era of bridal sarees begins here.
With love,
Priyanka
