Georgette Saree Care Instructions

1. First Wash – Dry Clean Recommended:
To preserve the color vibrancy and delicate texture, dry cleaning is the safest option, especially for georgette sarees with zari work, Shibori dye, or embroidery.

2. Hand Wash (If Necessary):

  • Use cold water and a mild detergent meant for delicate fabrics.

  • Gently dip and swirl — do not rub, wring, or soak for long.

  • Avoid washing frequently to maintain the fabric’s integrity.

3. Zari and Embroidery Caution:

  • Do not scrub or brush the zari or embroidered areas.

  • Spot clean gently if needed and avoid direct contact with water on the zari.

4. Drying Tips:

  • Always dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight to prevent color fading.

  • Lay flat or hang from the saree’s inner side (not the border) to avoid stretching or tearing.

5. Ironing:

  • Use a low heat or steam setting.

  • Place a cotton cloth over the saree while ironing to avoid burning the fabric or dulling the zari.

  • Do not iron directly on Shibori patterns or metallic threads.

6. Storage:

  • Fold neatly and store in a muslin or cotton bag.

  • Avoid plastic covers and moisture-prone areas.

  • Refold every few months to prevent creasing or fabric stress.
