Georgette Saree Care Instructions
1. First Wash – Dry Clean Recommended:
To preserve the color vibrancy and delicate texture, dry cleaning is the safest option, especially for georgette sarees with zari work, Shibori dye, or embroidery.
2. Hand Wash (If Necessary):
Use cold water and a mild detergent meant for delicate fabrics.
Gently dip and swirl — do not rub, wring, or soak for long.
Avoid washing frequently to maintain the fabric’s integrity.
3. Zari and Embroidery Caution:
Do not scrub or brush the zari or embroidered areas.
Spot clean gently if needed and avoid direct contact with water on the zari.
4. Drying Tips:
Always dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight to prevent color fading.
Lay flat or hang from the saree’s inner side (not the border) to avoid stretching or tearing.
5. Ironing:
Use a low heat or steam setting.
Place a cotton cloth over the saree while ironing to avoid burning the fabric or dulling the zari.
Do not iron directly on Shibori patterns or metallic threads.
6. Storage:
Fold neatly and store in a muslin or cotton bag.
Avoid plastic covers and moisture-prone areas.
Refold every few months to prevent creasing or fabric stress.
